Domain marketplace fees
Sleekdomains sellers pay 5%. A first listing submitted on or before January 31, 2027 pays 0% for 6 months after approval, then 5%. Buyers pay escrow and card processing fees on top of the listed price. Rent-to-own card fees are added to each monthly payment.
Updated 27 October 2026.
This page states the fees Sleekdomains publishes. Other marketplaces charge their own seller commission, and some add a buyer fee or a payment fee. The amount is on that site's own pricing page. This guide does not copy those amounts. The table on Pricing has a column of general ranges. That column is not a quote from a named company.
What sellers pay
A completed sale pays 5%, deducted from the seller's proceeds. The seller receives the listed price minus the Sleekdomains commission. Buyer escrow and card fees sit on top of the listed price. The commission is not added to the buyer's price, and it is not charged when someone only sends a request.
On a $2,000 illustration, the commission is $100 and the seller's proceeds are $1,900. That illustration is not a listed asking price and not a completed sale. The same illustration is on Sell and on Pricing.
Founding sellers
A seller whose first listing is submitted on or before January 31, 2027 (America/New_York) pays 0% on sales completed within 6 months of that listing's approval date, then 5%. A seller whose first listing is submitted after that date pays 5%. The 0% window does not start until that first listing is approved. The first listing is the earliest one submitted for that email address. Capitalization of the email does not create a second seller. A draft has no submission time, so saving a draft does not start the window. If that first listing is never approved, the 0% window does not start, and a completed sale pays 5%.
What buyers pay
Fees: buyer pays escrow and card processing fees. The escrow fee is 2.6% with a $50 minimum (Escrow.com), and a card payment adds 3.05% (Escrow.com). Both are on top of the listed price. The seller receives the listed price minus the Sleekdomains commission. Buyer escrow and card fees sit on top of the listed price. Escrow is not connected, and this is not a guarantee.
A request does not charge a card and does not start escrow. Escrow is not connected, and this is not a guarantee. This site does not hold the purchase price. There is no insurance and no transfer guarantee.
payarmor.com is listed at $4,000. That is the asking price. Escrow and card fees sit on top of it. They are not folded into the $4,000.
Rent-to-own
The Sleekdomains buyer fee on a rent-to-own plan is 0%. Card processing, about 2.9% + 30¢ per payment via Stripe, is added to each monthly payment. The listed monthly price does not include it. The amount is shown before the buyer agrees. A request does not charge a card. The seller commission on rent-to-own is 5% of the Buy Now price, not of the payment total. It is deducted from the payments as they come in until that commission is satisfied. How each payment is split is pending legal review.
payarmor.com lists $192 per month at 24 months. Card processing on that payment is $5.87, added to the monthly payment. The listed $192 does not include it. The amount is shown again on the name page before you agree.
How rent-to-own prices work shows the monthly formula. How much is a domain worth says when that schedule is a useful way to read the listing.
What these fees leave undone
The commission and the checkout fees do not move the name. Sleekdomains is not the registrar. Registrar steps are still undefined. How it works is the path from the form to email. The collection is where a published asking price lives. Buying a domain from its owner is the buyer checklist before payment.
